People are always asking what cars things they should do when going to new states and places. But we have never gone and put it all down under a tag. So lets do that. People from the Midwest, what car things do you recommend doing when people visit your area?

My suggestion is the Henry Ford Museum. While it didnt make the cut for todays AOTD it is still an amazing museum that need to visit. From Fords to Cords this collection has some of the best Americana ever built. And more.

In the summer, Road America has a whole weekend of classic car races and shows. It was sponsored by Hawk brakes last year but I don't know if that's the same every year.
It's a great time. There's an impromptu parade Friday night when all the street car drive in. Then of course all the races. And the whole weekend is open-paddock so you can walk right up to any car you desire for pictures or just ogling.
My friends and I go every year for Friday an Saturday. It is an absolute blast.

Gilmore Car Museum. They have some pretty rare cars there and lots of interesting cars as well. http://www.gilmorecarmuseum.org/

Also go to the beach in south haven and then drive to Gingerman raceway. http://www.gingermanraceway.com/

If you're by St. Louis sometime, swing by the Kemp Auto Museum if you can find the time!

The place isn't huge, but they've got quite a good collection of cars and it's definitely worth a look.

I'm in the Kirkwood area. You familiar with it? But I really do like the Kemp Museum. Fantastic collection of Mercs. Only been once, but planning on going again soon!

My recommendation is to simply enjoy driving uncluttered country roads!
